"Where Lovingkindness is
our Middle Name"

Felicia Schmid, 500-RYT is the owner and Director of our inviting classes and an advanced 500-hour Registered Yoga Alliance teacher and Certified Yoga teacher through Lotus Yoga Centre. There, she was trained by Sarla (yogiraj.) Walter from the Swami Rama lineage (the founder of the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy). She is currently pursuing her E-500 certification through Yoga Alliance. She has been passionately teaching since 2002 and has been regularly practicing Yoga since 1999. She is a member of the Lotus Yoga Teachers' Association and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Felicia resides in St. Charles with her husband and two wonderful boys (little and big yogis themselves)! It is because of the continued support and encouragement of her family that she is able to bring the joy of yoga to her community. As she personally began experiencing the true healing benefits of what yoga could actually do for you (chronic fatigue syndrome, congenital heart defect, chronic depression, IBS, chronic sinusitis), Felicia soon realized that was her yoga path... to help others heal through yoga.
This passion has lead her to the study of Integrative Yoga Therapy. She is pursuing a Professional Yoga Therapist certification and teaches private one-on-one sessions. She is also a Reiki Practitioner.
She teaches in the classical Himalayan tradition and is highly influenced by the Iyengar style. "Nothing beats hanging upside down from an inversion swing!" She believes that yoga is a wellness modality and compassionately guides her students on the journey of Yoga in a nurturing and fun environment. You can expect a focused, challenging and eclectic class that revolves around strength through softness and softness through strength. Longer holds fused with slow flow is stressed and hands-on adjustments give the student that "ah" feeling!
Felicia regularly continues her education through self study and practice. She is always open to the opportunities that life brings! She gives thanxs to Lori Lane for "I would not be where I am today without her." Some other influential master teachers are Seane Corn for her mystical spirit, Donna Farhi for her gentle nature, Gary Kraftsow for his therapeutics, Nicki Doane & Eddie Modestini for their approachable brightness, Noah Maze for his welcoming openness, Sharon Gannon & David Life for their inspiration. She is proud to have the honor to continually learn and be guided by master yogi Gabriel Halpern of The Yoga Circle and continues to be inspired and mentored by this wonderful man. It's a karmic thing!
Dawn Clark, 500-PYT is a Registered Nurse working with hospice for over 11 years. She is a mother of 3 boys and has always believed in the power of within...the body-mind-soul connection. She began her practice in 2002 and fell in love with the philosophy and physical awareness that yoga brings. She is inspired by the fact that yoga can meet the needs of people at any age and physical abillity. "I always noticed a positive change whenever I practiced Yoga!"
Dawn is a registered teacher through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago and a 500-hour Professional Yoga Therapist through the Integrative Yoga Therapy program. Her emphasis is on developing a life of greater health, happiness and wisdom. She is continually on the path of learning. She is also a Reiki Master Practitioner. Her classes challenge, yet create openness through slow flow and longer holds.
